New Blog.

Hey Guys,

I will no longer be using this blog. I'm not happy with this and  I think I want to do something a bit different theme wise.

I WILL NOT BE DELETING THIS BLOG

But I will do a little post on my new blog when I start it out. I plan to do something a bit more based around Lifestyle. But I will have the occasional beauty bit too.

I hope you all understand

How I Stay Motivated to be Fit

Hey Everybody,

As I promised in my last post, today I bring to you my best advice to stay motivated, or get motivated.

{DISCLAIMER: These are tips I've picked up over the last few months that have worked for me. I am not guaranteeing that this will work for you and if you have some tips, feel free to tweet, instagram, comment, etc}

But anyways, lets go ahead and get started.

1. I know I mentioned this before, but get cute things to use and wear. You're much more likely to reach for those things and go out to show them off

2. Find blogs that inspire you. Now, I find these mainly on instagram, (My Fitness Account). There are an amazing amount of people who post inspirational pictures of themselves, their gear, their food and more that I find incredibly motivating. To name a few marensdelights, nesscooks, fruitobsession, and so many more.

3. I also mentioned this on Tuesday, but find something you love to do. In my case, I can't stand running, so I don't run. Instead, I really like the elliptical, dancing, biking, walking, etc. I've found this over time. But if you dread going to work out, you're not going to do it. Some things you may want to try are:
      -biking         -walking            -dance
      -hiking         -running             -rowing
      -exercise classes

4. Make it convenient for yourself. If you're not able to go to the gym on a daily basis, try something like an online workout video. I highly recommend blogilates and tone it up. Also, find some apps. I use My Fitness Pal to keep me on track with what I eat, (though I never restrict myself) as well as Seven which is a seven minute intense workout. I love seven because it rewards you with achievements and unlocks new workouts as you go along. (and as a bonus, you can have Alli Simpson train you)

Sooooo, yeah! I hope this helps all of you!

An Un-Athletic Girl's Guide to Fitness

Hey Guys,

Today I bring to you my first (of hopefully many) fitness posts. Lately I have really been in the mood to just get healthier. Not to lose weight or anything, just for the lifestyle benefit. I would say this has been my mantra for the past month or so, and I'm already seeing improvements in my mood, sleep, and appearance. And get this, I am so not an athlete. So hopefully this will help out my other athletically challenged girls out there.

{Check out the blog on Thursday for a post on how I am motivated to continue to be healthy.}

Today however, I bring to you a few of my tips to get you started on your healthy lifestyle.

1. Get yourself some cute gear
-Pictured here are my shoes, yoga mat, and sunglasses. If you wear what makes you feel good, you'll be much more likely to actually get off your couch and go show off your gear. You don't have to spend a lot either! (Psst, those sunnies were $5)

2. Get yourself a planner!
-Use some sort of calendar, planner, or even your phone to write everything you want to do that day. For me, this includes the workouts I want to do and my My Fitness Pal daily journal. This will help you so that you can't "forget".

3. Find what you love
-I'll get into this more on Thursday with some options, but try out all kinds of things that you may or may not like until you find something you love

4. Don't restrict yourself
-You won't keep up with a lifestyle you can't stand. One of my favorite quotes is "One slice of cake won't make you fat just like how one salad won't make you skinny" If you want a piece of chocolate, have one.

5. Stay Positive
     - Don't think about how badly your legs hurt while you're running, or how much better ice cream is than yogurt (which honestly isn't all that true but whatever) Think about how much better you'll feel afterwards. Think of everything as a journey and your final result as a destination

I hope this helped you all!
xoxo Kendall

FOTD: Soft Grunge for Spring

Hey Guys!

I apologize for being MIA lately. Life has just been.....crazy busy. I'm sure you're all familiar with that feeling.

For today's post, I was really inspired by a makeup look that Doe Deere posted on her instagram (click here to view it). The look was a soft, blended copper eye with pink lips. I however decided to tone down the lips, as the pink made it a bit busy for me, but of course, do as you please.

Products Used:

Covergirl 3-n-1 Foundation in Creamy Natural
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Medium
Ulta Blush in Sunkissed

Assorted ELF Eyeshadows
Rimmel ScandalEYES Liner in Black
Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara

Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive
NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu

My Lazy Day

I don't know about you guys, but for me, lazy days are absolute must. Mine usually tend to be Sundays, but let's face it, they're not always possible.

Whenever I do happen to get the chance, they usually consist of lounging in my pajamas, drinking more glasses of tea than I can remember, scribbling in my sketchbooks, and blogs galore. I also tend to totally redesign my blog, trying to decide if I want something fun or minimalistic.  I apologize in advance for my constant indecisiveness. (Holy crap I spelled that right on the first try)

I honestly really enjoy taking a day just to kick up my feet, as I think most do. But that doesn't necessarily mean that I'm not getting anything done, trust me, I am. (kinda)

Short and Sweet Sunday: Music Raving

Hey Everybody!

This week I've been all about the music. I don't know, music and art have been my thing (or things) this week. To say I had a good week.....well that would be lying. But I don't want to get into that. But some escape has been much needed, and mine is music.

This week I've been listening to.....

Definitely a "dance around your room" song

My ULTIMATE bad day song

The song that everyone likes

Action movie in a song. (I'd like to think anyways)

aaaaaand the song that made me cry

RIP MCR 2001-2013

The Lipstick Tag

Hey Guys!

I hope you are all having a great week so far, fear not, Friday is coming.

Today I bring to you....... THE LIPSTICK TAG! I saw this tag on Life Set Sail and was immediately drawn to it.

Not much to say, so lets get started!

1. How many lipsticks do you own?

So far I own a total of eleven, (I'm broke) But I'm definitely not done collecting yet!

2. What was the first lipstick you ever owned?

Well, I've been a dancer ever since I was 6, so of course it was red for stage makeup. I actually clearly remember it being by NYC and having glitter in it *cringe*

3.What is your favorite lipstick brand?

Uhm, well I don't have a particular brand that I specifically think makes the best honestly. Sorry.

4. What is your most worn lipstick?

I believe that currently it's L'oreal Fairest Nude. Shocker

5. What's your favorite finish

Personally I really like matte and Retro-matte lipsticks because they're really versatile and can totally change with a gloss.

6. What was the last lipstick you bought

Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive. Love.

7. How many lip products are currently in your bag?

In my purse, none. In my school bag, one. (NYX butter gloss in Tiramisu). I'm not one for touching up really

8. What's your favorite red lip?

I'd have to go for the Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in 111 Kiss of Life . It's a gorgeous retro-matte neutral toned red, slightly on the bluer side.

9. How do you store your lipsticks

Standing upright in a box...... I need help

10. Which Lipsticks are you lusting after

There's a few. Lime Crime Babette. Lime Crime Velvetine in wicked. Maybelline lipstick in In the Buff.

aaaaaaaaaand Done!

If anyone does this tag, be sure to tweet me! I'd love to see it!

Short and Sweet Sunday: Urge to Art?

Hi Guys!

I don't know if anyone is aware of this, but I absolutely love art. I think it's what influenced my love of makeup. I post the majority of my art on my art account linked below. If anyone is ever interested in seeing my sketchbooks or any art related video, be sure to let me know. (I've been thinking about it anyways)

Over the last month or so I haven't had any time whatsoever to draw or any desire to anyways, that was until today. I've been looking through instagram and deviantart and now I have this super intense urge to draw and paint everything.

On another note, I'll be posting my room tour video on YouTube tonight or tomorrow at some point.

aaaaaand yeah

Classic 60's Valentine's Day Look

Hey Guys!

Long time no see? Well, I'm back, hopefully anyways.

Today I bring to you a super cliche beauty blogger post! Hooray! I mean come on, it's Valentine's makeup. But hey I came up with something. I decided to go for a medium coverage, natural brows, chiseled cheeks, and 60's style wings.

I wanted to go for a clean look that just enhances your features. A light flush of pink on the cheeks, nude pink lips, no eyeshadow (although you definitely could if you'd prefer).

I hope this post serves as some inspiration, and I'll post all of the product at the end!

As you can see, the eyes are super super easy. Just a bit of concealer and black gel liner of your choice.

Happy Valentine's Day from me to you!

Love you all!

L'oreal Infallible Super Slim Liner Review

Hi Everyone!

For today's post, I'd like to share my thoughts on the L'oreal Infallible Super Slim Liner as well as the pros and cons of the product.

For starters, the liner is a felt tip pen style liner with a flexible tip that isn't too flimsy. The formula is very black and thin without being watery. It seems to last decently long, but if you're someone who tends to rub their eyes, I wouldn't recommend it as it does smudge.

Keeping on the smudging aspect, it also IS. NOT. WATERPROOF. I think I mentioned this in my favorites video, but the second it gets wet, bam. Instant raccoon.

This does dry matte and black on the eyes and is very easy to apply and to create winged liner.

Claims:
Enjoy flawlessly clean lines as precise as 0.4mm with The Super Slim by Infallible® Never Fail. The ultra-fine felt tip gives you total control, delivering the perfect amount of liner. The intense quick dry 12 HR formula glides on smoothly with continuous and even flow. In one stroke create sleek and sophisticated eyes.

Skip-proof
Drag-proof
Smudge-proof
Ophthalmologist-tested

(Directly from the L'oreal website)

Price:
$8.95 at Target and from the website.

Pros:
-Easy to apply
-Very black
-Thin lines
-Good Price point
-Decent staying Power

Cons;
-Smudges
-Not waterproof

I guess the final verdict is up to you. Do you have this? What do you think about it?

xoxo Kendall

My New Favorite Drugstore Lip Combo

Hi Everyone!

So as you may or may not know, I absolutely love my dark berries and reds on the lips. But we've now gotten to the point of winter that I'm about ready to run all the way to somewhere warm, and I don't run. I've gotten so excited for spring, that I've decided to already start incorporating spring-ish trends into my makeup. Of course starting with the lips.

I don't know why, but pinks usually really don't look good on me, especially if they're light pinks, but I happen to love this creamy, milky pink shade created by these two products

Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive + NYX Butter Gloss in

Elusive is a medium toned pink and Tiramisu is a pink toned nude. Alone, they're pretty, but together, they're gorgeous. Just in case you're wondering, I purchased both at Target, the Balm being $7 and the Gloss $5

Aaaaaaand yeah,

Hope Everyone is having a lovely day and I'll see you all very soon

xoxo Kenndall

Manicure Monday: Black and Rose Gold

Hi Everybody!

First off, I'm sorry for uploading this so late today, I was quite busy, but I now have a bit of a break, so I'm going to go post writing crazy.

This week, I went back to black, but I decided to keep it pretty classy. I have a dance on Friday and I wanted something that would look nice with my dress.

This week I've used Sinful Colors Black on Black with a gradient coat of Sally Hansen Dream Sequins. These polishes both went on very very smoothly with a few coats and look very nice and shiny.

Hope you all enjoyed and I will be back on Wednesday!

Short and Sweet Sunday: What's to come?

Hey Guys!

I hope you all had a great week, I know I did with only three days of school and possibly only three next week as well. Thank you random cold spell.

For this week's Short and Sweet Sunday I wanted to talk about all the plans I have for the next few weeks. I got busy with planning last night and I have some things coming up. As always, I'd love to hear what you'd like to see as well. I can always use some ideas.

First off, I have a couple drugstore reviews on the way. I don't want to give them away, but keep an eye out for those.

I also plan to have more OOTD and FOTD posts throughout the next few weeks, mainly to keep me from constantly coming back to the same outfit and makeup look. Let's face it, I need to switch thing up.

Going along with switching things up, I just cleaned out my closet and my dresser and I plan to make a post about the Great Wardrobe Detox

Now to what I'm most excited about...

First off, I just filmed my first ever YouTube video *cough cough* January Favorites *cough cough* so that'll be up very soon and ill put a post here about it too.

AAAAAAAND......drumroll please......

I'm going to Chicago! I'll be leaving next Thursday, (the 6th of February) and ill be back by Monday. But fear not, there will be posts during that time.

soooooo yeah! I'll see y'all tomorrow for Manicure Monday!

3 Blogs You MUST Check Out: January

Hey Everyone

So today I thought I'd do something different that I'd like to bring out monthly, (and yes I will be doing a monthly favorites too). I follow an insane amount of incredible blogs, and these are the ones I happen to find myself going back to the most. So without any further blabbing, let's start shall we?

1. Lily Pebbles - http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/

Lily has such an incredible blog. The photos are incredible in quality and the posts are really well thought out. I'm never disappointed in the content of her blog which mainly revolves around beauty and skincare. And on top of all of that, she posts every single day.

2. LLYMLRS - llymlrs.com

Hey Look, another British Lily! This Lily once again has a great blog jam packed with beauty and fashion reviews and photos. She uploads very very frequently and does a great job of keeping her posts short and sweet.

3. Late Night Nonsense - latenightnonsense.com

Adrienne has such a sleek and sophisticated looking blog. Just before writing this post I was reading her "no makeup makeup look" post and got really inspired. She's got such a laid back style that never comes across as lazy and always leaves me wanting more

Hope this was somewhat helpful.

As always, let me know what you want to see!

xoxo Kendall

Manicure Monday: Fire Red

Happy Monday Everyone!

I hope you all are having a great day. So for this week's manicure I painted my nails with the Covergirl Outlast Glosstini in Rouge Red

Honestly, I'm not loving this color on myself. It's a pinkish red color with a TON of gold and orange glitter. Although I think the color is stunning in the bottle, (a beautiful orange with gold glitter), it doesn't seem to mesh with my skin tone.

The first coat is incredibly sheer and looked extremely pink, but by the second coat, there was too much shimmer for me to add a third coat to bring it to the opacity I'd like.

Of course, some of you may really like this color, and I'm glad that you do, I just won't be reaching for it much myself.

Short and Sweet Sunday: New theme, More Fashion, and Tumblr

Hey Everyone!

As you've probably noticed if you've visited my blog before, I TOTALLY changed up my theme. I wasn't entirely happy with how it was before, but now I think it has a much more fun and interesting look, while still looking clean. Do you like it? Let me know!

Also, I'd really like to center this blog more around fashion rather than makeup and beauty, but don't worry, beauty posts will carry on as well! For some of my favorite fashion inspiration, check out my tumblr, which I'll link at the end of the post. I'm on there nearly every day, but it won't be nearly as detailed as this, (Which some people may like). I'm really happy with what my tumblr is, as far as the layout/look and the actual content goes. So yeah! Check that out if you have a few extra minutes.

I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in how I created this makeup look? I did film myself getting ready, and I was thinking about posting that, but it is incredibly simple, and wearable (that is without the rhinestones.

Of course, let me know what you think!

My Current Favorite Lip Products!

Hey Everyone!

So I think most girls can agree that a good lipstick really completes a look. No matter if you're going for a deep red or a nude, I think I can help!

Disclaimer: I took a picture of the wrong lipstick! /).(\ The one in the lower right hand corner should be the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. The swatch is correct.

All of these lipsticks are under ten dollars and can be picked up in places such as Ulta and the Dollar store.

IN ORDER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 111 Kiss of Life - A true red, a bit on the orangey side

LA Colors Lipstick in Berry Ice - A deep red-berry

ELF Matte Lip Color in Natural - A matte, nude-pink

L'oreal Lipstick in Fairest Nude - a glossy nude pink

Ulta Lipstick in Purple Passion - a deep berry-plum

(On the bottom)

Ulta Super Shiny Lipgloss in Starlet - A sheer watermelon pink with some unnoticeable shimmer

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie - A sheer light berry toned pink

Well, that's it! I hope you all enjoyed!

Tumblr-ish Lounge Space?

Hey Everyone!

As promised, I'm sticking to the schedule I brought out to you yesterday (even though it's Sunday when I'm writing this) which is going to be a bit of a struggle since sadly my winter break is now over

*Insert tears here*

But anyways, now that the holidays are now over, and the New Year is upon us, I always find it a fun idea to spruce up my room. Now, we actually completely redid my room over spring break last year, so this was kind of a minor thing to do, but here we go.

TADA! My room has an alcove space to it where my bed is that I spend the most time in. I've gathered my inspiration from several sources including Tumblr, Pinterest, and YouTube.

My bed is actually not on a frame, just a box frame. This allows for a lower bed that we intended to act as a couch when needed. My bedding is from Target I believe. (I can't be sure, my mom picked it up with me.) We also hung fishing line with little mirrors from my window using a curtain rod. It gives an awesome reflective-light-thing-look to the walls. (I can't describe it)

My entire room has a Old timey Parisan / Vintage Hollywood theme, but that's beside the point.

The frames on the wall have actual vintage fashion articles in them. These are from 1926 and are from a garage sale. Pretty cool huh?

I also just hung white Christmas lights over them to give some visual interest.

(Plus they look really good at night time)

I also keep an owl stuffed animal, my laptop, and a magazine, this one being the Catching Fire edition of Us. (Best Movie and Book)

When I make my bed, I set the pillows up on an angle rather than flush against the wall which gives my twin sized bed a much larger and loungier feel. Just a preference, I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy.

On the opposite side, I just have an Eiffel Tower wall decal from Michael's craft store and a cork-board where I hang little memories and artwork. (The lanyard was my ticket to the opening night double feature Hunger Games/Catching Fire movie thing. Oh my god it was so fun)

aaaaaaaaand yeah. I think thats it! I hope y'all enjoy

xoxo Kendall

My New Years Resolutions

Hello Everyone!

So, I know this is a bit late as far as the New Year goes, but I wanted to take a second to talk about my goals, or resolutions as some call them, and put them into the massive abyss that is the internet. Keep in mind that I'm only thirteen, so my resolutions may be quite different than others, but hopefully you can draw some sort of inspiration from this.

So without any further babble, here we go.

1. Get my splits- I don't believe I have mentioned this before, but I'm a dancer. I've been a dancer for six or seven years, and I have VEEEEERY tight knees. This makes any sort of split work incredibly painful and then I don't want to do it then. So I'm going to get them this year.

2. Save up for a laptop- I'm currently on a crappy school issued computer where almost everything is blocked. I think that explains enough

3. Stop Procrastinating- Need I say more?

4. Start up a YouTube channel- I've always thought it would be really fun, so this year will be the year

5. Clear up my skin- I have struggled with acne quite a bit over the last couple years, and I'm going to work really hard to really clear up my skin, keeping it moisturized and as clean as I can

These are my main resolutions this year! Let me know what your resolutions are!

Easy "No Makeup" Makeup (Almost all drugstore)

Hey Guys!

I wanted to take a second to show y'all my current favorite makeup look. It looks like your skin has little to no makeup on it, but gives you a more radiant, awake look. I hope you all enjoy!

Face:

1. First, I primed my skin with a shine reducing primer. Of course, whatever primer you like to use, go for it!
I used Shine Killer by Nyx

2. Next, I applied a light to medium coverage foundation, or your favorite concealer ONLY TO WHERE YOU NEED IT. Sorry, I just had to get the point across. This is the key to make your skin  look naturally flawless. I chose not to cover up everything, but feel free to. I used Covergirl Clean Whipped Cream Foundation

3. Next was contouring. This is totally optional, but I love the way it worked. I used Warmth by Bare Minerals to lightly contour my cheekbones and temples. I then highlighted with a matte cream color, I used Bone by Ulta, placing it under the eyes and on the bridge of my nose

4.Add a blush in your natural flush. I went for Berry Plum by LA Color which gave a light flush

Eyes:

1. Fill in your brows. Simple as that I used Ulta Eye Pencil in Deep Brown

2. Put a light cream colored shadow on your lid, inner corner, and browbone (I used Bone again)

3. Apply a medium toned brown to your crease. I used Milk Chocolate by Ulta

4. I tightlined with Rimmel ScandalEYES in Black

5. Finish off with a coat or two of mascara

I finished the lips with Nyx Butter Gloss in Tiramisu

I hope you all enjoyed my little tutorial!

xoxo Kendall
